Pink on a Rainy Day

This is a little girl that I helped watch one day while I was on Thanksgiving Break. She hated me at first, but that changed after the boys left the room and I was the only one there.

This is Me

I don't want to become
Something anyone else wants me to be.
The world presses in
And tells me I need to become someone,
Someone other than myself.
This is my life.
So why are others taking over it?
I just want to be free,
Free to be me.
I fight against the crowd.
I finally push through.
It feels good to be free.
People ask me who I am,
And I can only reply,
"This is me."

Sunset Over the Dorms

The colors in this picture are what make me like it so much. I love the silhouette of the dorms against the sunset, which is halfway hidden behind a layer of clouds. =)

Mountain Made of Clouds

This picture is sooooo cool! I absolutely love it! I love how the sun shines just right at the edge of the clouds and makes a shadow that makes the clouds look like a mountain. I love the lighting in this entire photo! =D

A Sheet of Light

I took this photo right before we pulled out of the NCC parking lot. I love the way the light shines through the slit in the clouds. It looks really neat.

Way Up in the Sky

I took this picture last night, when there was a full moon. In this picture, the clouds look like they are swirling around the moon. On the left side of the picture, our living room wall juts out and hides some of the clouds. This is definitely one of the best pictures I have taken of the moon. I just love the way the picture looks!

A Little Piece of Heaven

This photo was taken in the parking lot of the college. It's looking at the campus, while a storm was coming in. The sun was hidden behind some clouds and then began to shine through the cracks. I think this picture looks like light coming down from Heaven, shining down on the campus of the college.

Connecting With the Past

This picture was taken in the back of Mt. Vernon (George Washington's estate). From the backyard, there is a view that overlooks the Potomac River. It is a beautiful outlook... especially when the sun is shining on the water like it is in the photo. =)

A View From Afar

This is absolutely my most favorite pic of all time (as of right now)! I love the view from the window - how it is dark inside, while it is raining outside. It shows downtown Washington D.C. off in the distance, through the rain and fog. I just love everything about this picture!

God's Amazing Creation

Just a reminder of how beautiful sunsets can be... God is a wonderful creator for giving us such an amazing reminder of his glory.

Laziness

Whenever I look at this picture, it reminds me of just how lazy we can be. Sometimes, we need to take time off just to relax or goof off. I like the way the bear is sleeping on top of the branch... he looks so comfortable. :)

oh yeah... and he's sleeping about 50-100 feet above the ground. ;)

Gonzo

I love this picture. I am holding a puppy named Gonzo, that was left outside the gates of Camp Barnabas this summer. I just love how this picture was taken in black and white and Gonzo was positioned just right. =D

Friendship

Two are better than one -
Ecclesiastes 4:9. It is true that
Everyone wants
That one special friend
Who they could tell anything to.
Well, you see, I've found that friend many

Times over. There are many
Who have won
Over my heart, two
In particular, that
I can open up to. These two friends,
Make me feel loved and wanted.

What I want,
Is to share many
memories with these friends.
They are the ones
That I call late at night, that
I call at two

In the morning, to
Tell them they are wanted
In my life. Then, we'll say goodbye so many times, that
we end up wasting many
More minutes, just trying to end the conversation. One
Minute later, that friend

Calls me back, to talk even more. As I say, friends
Don't let friends fall asleep until two
In the morning! The one
Friend who wants
To talk to you about their many
Experiences from their past, that

Wants to relate to your life, is that
One true friend
Everyone would like to have. Many
Times, we want to
Connect with them, wanting
To feel as though we aren't the only one

Going through these experiences in life. One is weak, but two friends
Together can make memories that will last, bringing together two
Souls that want to be connected. Through sharing, they become one, not many.

What Makes Me Happy?

What makes me happy?
The way you look
At me with love
In your eyes, or hold
My hand in yours. You
Sitting near me and touching

The tips of my fingers. Your touch,
Soft and gentle, spreads happiness
Throughout my body. You
Stopping whatever you were doing in order to look
At me, holding
Me with your gaze, while I sit there, loving

The way you love
Me. Your hands touch
My back as you hold
Me close to you, and I’m happy.
And as we part, you look
At me once again, as though you

Don’t want to let go, as if you
Are afraid of losing me. Why do you love
Me? You have that look
Of longing, like you want to touch
Me. Then, you have happiness
Spread across your face as you hold

Me in your arms. You hold
Me tight, burying your
Face in my neck. I’m happy
That you are loving
On me. I tremble at your very touch.
And, once again, you look

At me, looking
Deep into my eyes as you hold
Me. You’re touch
Lingers on my skin as you
Walk away from me, love
Bursting from my heart, hoping you’re happy.

Why am I happy? Because you hold
Me and look at me with your
Gentle, loving, and caring touch.
